EU legitimacy in question

Referendums are dangerous for the EU. In recent years, almost all popular votes on EU matters ended up with the same answer: No.

The vote with the most far-reaching consequences was Britain's EU membership referendum on 23 June, when 51.9 percent of voters chose the most radical option: leaving the Union.
Only weeks before, in April, 61.1 percent of voters in a Dutch referendum had rejected an EU-Ukraine association agreement, casting doubts on the bloc's strategy to stabilise the war-torn country.

These two referendums in 2016 followed one in Denmark, at the end of 2015, when a closer cooperation with other EU countries in some justice and home affairs issues was dismissed by 53 percent of voters.

"I'm fundamentally not a big friend of referendums," European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said in June, days before the UK vote.

"One always breaks out in a sweat when someone dares to ask the opinion of the people," he told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Admittedly people do not always vote only on the question asked in a referendum, and domestic politics often has an influence on their final decision.
The 'last‑chance commission'

Juncker's lack of confidence in the public's judgement seems to be reciprocated.

According to the latest Eurobarometer survey - the regular EU study of public opinion - conducted last spring and published in July, just 33 percent of Europeans said they had trust in the European Union and 34 percent had a positive image.

The level of trust was slightly above the 31 percent low reached in 2013-2014, just before Juncker became commission chief, but down from 40 percent in spring 2015.

"This will be the last‑chance commission," Juncker warned in 2014. "Either we will succeed in bringing our citizens closer to Europe, or we will fail."

Two years later, the EU is about to lose a member and anti-EU movements are gaining ground in several countries.

Dutch and French far-right leaders, Geert Wilders and Marine Le Pen, are leading in opinion polls ahead of elections next year. And in Austria, far-right candidate Norbert Hofer nearly missed the presidency in a rerun election in December.

In countries such as Poland and Hungary, elected leaders have pursued programmes putting them in a collision course with EU policies or values, but they stop short of running for the EU exit door.

Even in Germany, immune from large far-right movements since World War II, the year 2016 has seen the rise of the anti-migrant and anti-EU Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

Launched in 2013, the AfD won a symbolic victory in September when it finished second in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern elections, ahead of chancellor Merkel's CDU in her own region.
From democratic to legitimacy deficit

In 2016, opposition to policies like the eurozone's austerity push developed into a broader critique of the EU's role in issues, including the refugee crisis and free trade.

Another referendum was organised in Hungary against the EU's policy of sharing asylum seekers. Only 44 percent of voters participated, but 98 percent of the valid votes cast rejected the idea that the EU should impose mandatory quotas.

Even the EU's trade policy, of which the commission has led the charge for decades, is under growing criticism. France, a founding member of the Union, called for more national involvement.

The ultimate proof of contention regarding the EU's role came when the Belgian region of Wallonia held up the signing of an EU-Canada trade deal. Canada ultimately had to negotiate directly with Wallonia to ensure its concerns were taken into account.

After the much talked about democratic deficit of the 1990s and 2000s, the EU seems now to suffer from a legitimacy deficit.
Legitimacy from common benefit

"Historically, the EU drew its legitimacy from common benefit. It brought more prosperity, affluence, accountability. The benefits outweighed the costs," Jiri Priban, director of the Centre of Law and Society at Cardiff University, told EUobserver.

But with time, the EU has become a more political project and "the question of its legitimacy will hit at every new step", he noted.

"Every law expresses a certain public spirit," he said. But now, "the EU is turning into a machinery of decision-making and it is losing its spirit and is producing ghosts of the past, like nationalism, ethnic hatred and authoritarianism".

The EU, faced with what Juncker has called "a polycrisis" - from economic crisis to refugee crisis - is also more fragile than other levels of powers.

"Europe is the weakest level of power of all, because European identity is so weak," Herman van Rompuy, a former European Council president, said during a conference in Brussels in November.

He said that when a problem arises, "we switch from a functional question to an existential question", thus slowing action and encouraging anti-EU forces.
'People respect leadership'

For Priban, EU democracy was threatened at national level by austerity policies and constraints on governments. To regain legitimacy with European citizens, the EU needs a new deal to create investments and jobs and recreate the common benefit narrative.

Van Rompuy also explained that EU leaders were neither decisive enough nor protective enough of their citizens.

"The lack of trust is so profound that we cannot expect to overcome it in a few years," he said, adding that the EU needed to show better leadership and give concrete results on the economy, security or migration.

"People respect leadership even if they don't agree," the former EU leader said.

A collapsing EU. Let it crumble.
Us Europids, need to get rid of the slavish mentalities that belittle us and chain us to whims of our enemies. We need to renew our bonds under new and basic agreements that would not impinge on our freedom but aim at safeguarding our Identity, continuity, development and achievements.
Such a task shall be of utmost importance to each and every one of us. We have to be witty yet ruthless against those who attempt to break us. We stand to see which breed will destiny promote and which it will extinguish.
Imperium Europa.

Source: http://www.wvwnews.net/content/index.php?/news_story/immigration_and_race.html

Many veteran race realists and pro-White activists are as familiar with the following analysis as they are with the weather. No surprises here. But--it behooves these same comrades to pass along information like this to as many fence sitters and "normies" as possible. We now live in era--the length of which is to be determined-- of "unrelenting opportunism," and it must not be squandered.

Not that long ago several of your leaders, such as Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul, were speaking out loudly and forcefully against the illegal immigration which is destroying the country. But there is a problem. Despite the forceful language being employed, the real issue is being ducked.

The issue is not illegal immigration. The issue is race. Yes, let us use the horrid word. The issue is whether or not these United States shall remain a white country.

Were every illegal immigrant given a green card tomorrow, the fundamental issue would remain: White America or La Raza America? There is an uncanny similarity between the language of the preservation of slavery one hundred fifty years ago and the language of immigration restriction today.

The South tried to hide the preservation of slavery behind universal language of “states rights”. Whites today try to hide the preservation of white civilization behind universal language of illegal immigration. It is time to stop hiding.

The men who wrote the Constitution were unabashed white supremacists. They enslaved blacks, they conquered Mexicans and they exterminated Indians. They were proud of it. Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and John C. Calhoun wrote unequivocally of the superiority of whites to all the aforementioned groups. Not one American of the 18th, 19th or early 20th centuries envisioned America as anything other than a free white land. The claim that America should be a “melting pot” of diverse races was, and is, a LIE. Just who is responsible for that lie we shall examine later.

Americans need have no fear of the charge of racism. Racism simply means: White America preserved for whites. That is as it should be. The Mexicans and other Third World races pouring into America are complete racists. They openly proclaim themselves the true “native Americans” and arrogantly announce that they shall drive American whites back to Europe. They openly boast of their agenda and proclaim it to the skies. The media ignore this Third World racism and denounce white racism instead.

Ladies and Gentlemen: Who decided that your land (White America) should be converted into a Third World cesspool?

Some of you may blame it on the “liberal media”. Others may blame it on corporations seeking cheap labor. Still others may blame it on corrupt politicians seeking votes. All of these explanations have partial value. But all of them fail the ultimate test.

None of them, either taken together or individually, can explain the intense, unremitting sledge hammer drive to destroy these United States as a white nation. The people who push this movement do not give a damn what the white population thinks.

They did not give a damn what the white population thought when they crammed forced bussing and racial integration down the throat of the country in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Nor is this movement limited to these United States. It exists internationally. South Africa and Rhodesia were destroyed as white countries-with consequences now known to everyone.

What is this international power which seeks to over run these United States and to make its borders and national sovereignty meaningless? This power is easily identifiable.

It is the same power which created communism in Russia in 1917. It is the same power which created a great League of Nations in Paris in 1919. It is the same power which drove 700,000 Arabs out of Palestine in 1948-and which sends over one hundred fifty thousand American soldiers to occupy Iraq today. It is the power of the Jews.

Where is the proof of this assertion? The proof is in the history of the immigration laws of these United States. The drive for immigration restriction in America began with the arrival in America of hundreds of thousands of Marxist Jews from Czarist Russia in the 1880’s.

These aliens were “NOT American” and the immigration law of 1924 was designed to keep them OUT. That law deliberately favored the Northern Europeans who had made the country great. The American Jewish Committee and Mr. Louis Marshall screamed-and have screamed ever since.

When the 1924 law came up for renewal in 1951, the American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Congress once again screamed that Nordic racists were trying to discriminate against an oppressed world in general, and Jewish communist refugees in particular.

Senator Pat McCarran of Nevada, whose name appeared on the 1952 bill which eventually passed, would have none of it. America would remain a white, Anglo-Saxon land until 1965, when Senator Jacob Javits and Representative Emmanuel Celler managed to have the Immigration Act changed over from 180,000 mostly White, Europeans, to over 800,000 mostly non-White immigrants per year. Senator Charles Schumer and Congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman have continued such legislative efforts.

The Immigration Act of 1965 overthrew the white, Nordic structure of American society and told the Third World: “Come On In.” Some of you, ladies and gentlemen, may ask: Why would Jews wish to overthrow the United States as a white nation? What have they to gain?

To answer this question one must know something of Jewish history. Jews have been expelled from one European nation after another throughout the centuries.

In Germany, the population under Adolf Hitler turned against them with deadly force in retaliation for the Jewish communist revolutions post World War One. Jews in America wield tremendous political and economic power. They most definitely have not been using that power to benefit the whites.

The Jews know that if American whites ever catch on to what Jews have been doing, then a white nationalist reaction against Jewish power, as in Hitler’s Germany, could occur. It is precisely to prevent that eventuality that Jews have worked unceasingly to shatter the white racial back bone of America. If whites become fragmented and isolated in Third World America, Jewish power can rule unopposed.

It should be obvious to you, ladies and gentlemen, that as America has declined as a white nation, Jewish power has grown ever greater. That correlation is not mere happenstance. It is cause and effect. Some of you, ladies and gentlemen, may be offended by the hard truth. You may regard it as an unwarranted attack on personal friends of the Jewish faith.

So be it. Political realities cannot be altered by personal relationships. The hard fact is that America is being destroyed as a white land because the interests of one particular group require that it be so. That group is the Jews. Both logic and the hard facts support the conclusion. Some of you shall be scared off by the Jewish angle. But unless YOU, ladies and gentlemen, understand why you are being flooded with the Third World, you will not be able to evict them from your land. You will be stymied at every attempt.

And then, you will flail about aimlessly, attacking all the scapegoats for all the wrong reasons. American whites are in a war for racial survival. The Third World immigrants are the army of the enemy, but the Jews are the generals and the suppliers of that army.

To destroy the enemy at the gates is essential, but to destroy the enemy within the gates is also essential. For unless that enemy is eliminated, permanently and for all time, the enemy without shall return, again and again.

http://www.maltatoday.com.mt/news/europe/73547/malta_wants_eulibyan_patrols_to_stop_boat_migrants#.WH-Zi1xaTF4

The Maltese government has presented home affairs ministers of the EU with a “non-paper” – diplomatic-speak for a political memo – calling for joint patrols with the Libyan navy in a bid to stop the influx of migrants through the Central Mediterranean route.

Malta has assumed the presidency of the European Union and is currently tasked with the delicate bid to push the reform of the Dublin Regulation, which forces EU member states to process any asylum claims presented at their borders.

In its aide-memoire to European member states, Malta has proposed placing European coast guard patrols just outside the extensive Libyan coast, in joint patrols with Libyan counterparts, who will then take intercepted migrant boats back to Libyan shores.

As a non-paper, the document does not assume any official status, but serves as a discussion point for EU ministers of the interior to consider. Controversially, member states will have to decided whether the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, borne out of the ashes of the Frontex agency, will be stopping the passage of migrant boats just off the Libyan territorial waters, to have them escorted back to coast by the Libyan navy.

The Central Mediterranean Route has returned to the fore of Europe’s migratory flux, with 729 asylum seekers having arrived on the Sicilian coast within just the first two weeks of 2017.

However, Maltese foreign minister George Vella has poured cold water on the possibility of striking a deal with Libya to stem the flow of migrants to Europe, which Prime Minister Joseph Muscat this week said was urgent.

“It’s a question of if and when Libya becomes stable,” Vella said, adding that the situation in the troubled North African country is “very different” from that in Turkey, which last year signed a deal with the EU to hold back Syrian refugees.

While pointing out that despite its problems, Turkey remains a safe country, Vella said: “I ask whether Libya is a safe country, and I’ll leave it at that.”

Predicting record numbers of crossings across the Mediterranean this spring, Prime Minsiter Joseph Muscat said “we will have a crisis” as he kicked-off Malta’s six-month EU presidency.

Calling for a deal modelled on the EU-Turkey agreement, Muscat said European leaders could choose between “trying to do something now, or meeting urgently in April, May... and try to do a deal then.”

But Vella warned that striking a deal with Libya – the main passageway for asylum seekers – will not be easy, as the country is highly unstable.

“Reaching an agreement with Libya is no easy task,” Vella said of the oil-rich country with three rival governments and countless militias all vying for territorial control.

He also shed doubt on the ability of the UN-recognised government led by Fayez Serraj – which is deemed as weak and incompetent by many in Libya and abroad – saying that potential pitfalls must be avoided.

Last week, Muscat said that the EU should draw up an arrangement with Libya, from where most migrants leave Africa for Europe. It would use European money and expand an agreement already in place between Italy and Libya.

Muscat said “there is already a framework that has been negotiated. The Italian deal can serve as a basis.”

But Vella said that Libya’s UN-backed government has not accepted proposals by Italy aimed at cutting migrant flows and the two sides are “far apart” on reaching an agreement.

On stemming the flow of migration towards Europe, Vella said the situation was complex and “it doesn’t simply work by closing access as if we’re placing a traffic barrier.”
Vella – who often says Libya is on the brink of becoming a failed state – also acknowledged the fact that doubts linger on whether Libya would uphold the rights of asylum seekers if these were to be sent back or kept in the North African country before applying for asylum.

This liar of a Prime Minister who promised his electorate pushback, only to backtrack after his appointment by stating that promising it was a mistake, is showing what a moron he is. Now that Renzi is out of the picture, he is out in the cold. During his terms not many boats were reaching Malta but third worlders were coming in from Sicily and Italy legally. The PM made sure to keep the People ignorant of what was happening. As of today, the Government of Malta doesn't really know how many Africans and Arabs are living there. The Crisis that he mentions started years ago. It is not a migration crisis. It is a political crisis which misfits like him contribute to.
Foreign Minister Affairs Vella, who confirms the EU's contribution to Libya's failure, is concerned about the right of asylum seekers if they are to be send back to where they, voiluntarily came from. As if we care! How stupid!

Re previous post.

Something seems to have happened to our Foreign Minister - Dr Vella was one of the best men in the Labour Party.
He now worries about the "African migrants" since "Libya is not a safe country."
And so what?  As if we care about illegals who travelled thousands of miles to get to Libya. - Now they can enjoy it!

As if We care - We are not contaminated with The Jesus Poison - that morbid religion of pity and death.

Dishwasher breaks down, elderly get plastic forks

Culture-enriching (unwanted) immigrants protest on anything which doesn't suit them - and get it. There are funds for them. However the frail years-long contributors to our society (our educators, our blood) remain jailed in the prisons of injustice which acquire for them whatever is "cheapest compliant" (our procurement system) and are bureaucratically made to wait months for an elevator to be repaired, proper cutlery to be directly ordered, et cetera.

The administration would be prompt to tell you that "there are no funds" when the filthy corrupt top-brass who throw smoke screens at each other, while behind and jointly liable massive money-laundering scandals themselves, go on living the high life and sending their own seniors to the best homes where you would be unable to do likewise if you contributed your monthly salary towards the same.

The world is round. Today the Maltese citizen remain silent because he's a moron and he's got beer in the refrigerator. Tomorrow he'll be silenct because he'll be too weak and ignored to be heard. He wouldn't have the beer but the shit in his pants instead. Italy is leading by example.

"Crises provoke fear, alarm. In my opinion, the most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933... A people that was immersed in a crisis, that looked for its identity until this charismatic leader came and promised to give their identity back, and he gave them a distorted identity, and we all know what happened," the Pope said.

The Maltese courts are corrupt. They did not adopt the same reasoning in Lowell's case.

When the authorities, under a vile PN government, hauled Lowell to Court, they were eager to use him as a blacksheep and instill a sense of fear in those who were opposing betrayal. They did their best to keep Lowell from contesting but failed and costed them an election. Now that they're in opposition, they want to promote freedom of expression again. They are protesting against a bill that allows a citizen to get back at those who maliciously spread false news about him with the aim of destroying his reputation. Journalists want to enjoy the freedom of false accusations in order to come up with lies that lead to a sharp increase in readership and the subsequent profits from ads out of which they lose a little percentage thereof to settle libels.

A midget communist minister. He left his family in order to date a journalist, unaware that his boss had screwed her before him. He wants to increase the penalty amount to euro 20,000 in order to deter journalists from publishing stories similar to those of his fellow Chris Cardona, who ridiculed Malta.
