Greek government rocked by nationalist row

The Greek government is being rocked by calls from the defence minister for the resignation of the migration minister over his use of the name “Macedonia” to refer to Greece’s neighbouring country.
The dispute could lead to the departure of the person in charge of Greece's most acute problem - the presence of an estimated 47,000 migrants and refugees, a problem that the EU has just earmarked €700 million to help with.

Yannis Mouzalas mentioned the name in a TV interview instead of the usual Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).
Referring to their neighbour as Macedonia is taboo in Greece, where all governments since the former Yugoslav republic's independence in 1991 have vetoed the term.

The name Macedonia “refers to the kingdom and culture of the ancient Macedonians, who belong to the Hellenic nation and are unquestionably part of Greek historical and cultural heritage,” Greece says.

FYROM has been a compromise tag since 1992, pending a settlement of the name dispute. The initials are often used by international organisations, but media outlets generally call the country Macedonia.

Relations between Greece and Macedonia have become tense in recent weeks after Macedonia closed their common border, leaving about 12,000 migrants, mainly Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans, stranded near the village of Idomeni in Greece in difficult conditions.

Mouzalas has apologised, but his government colleague, the defence minister and the leader of the nationalist Independent Greeks party (Anel) Panos Kammenos, called for him to quit “to protect the government”.

“Independent Greeks support the government, not Mouzalas,” Kammenos said on Wednesday outside the prime minister’s office where a meeting was being held over the row.

Kammenos’ right-wing party has been the main ally of leftist prime minister Alexis Tsipras since he was first elected in January 2015. Anel now holds nine seats in the Greek parliament, where the government has only a three-seat majority....contd

such bickering would not happen - for all Europe will consist of Free Regions, not Nation States.
All Regions would find themselves organically - the People will decide to which Region they would belong.

Greece struggling to send refugees back to Turkey under EU deal
Greece is due to start sending failed asylum-seekers back to Turkey today but officials say they won’t be ready to begin the process for weeks as they are still waiting for extra personnel

...However, the implementation of the deal appears to have hit a brick wall as Greek officials are struggling to enforce it. Greece prime minister Alexis Tsipras told his ministers on Saturday afternoon to be ready to begin deporting people on Sunday, as agreed, but officials said afterwards they needed more time to prepare as more personnel are needed for the deal to be implemented.
“The agreement to send back new arrivals on the islands should, according to the text, enter into force on March 20,” the government coordinator for migration policy spokesman Giorgos Kyritsis said....

Despite criticism, European Union plans are ready to deport refugees

Greece is pressing ahead with plans to start deporting migrants and refugees back to Turkey next week, despite mounting concern from the United Nations and human rights organizations that Syrians could be denied proper protection while some are allegedly even being forced back into their war-torn country.

Lawmakers in Athens Friday were due to back draft legislation, fast-tracked through parliament, to allow the returns to start as soon as Monday.

The operation would see migrants and refugees who arrived on Greek islands after March 20 put on boats and sent back to Turkey....

----------------

What criticism? It comes from the UN: those very countries from whom the Illegals are coming from!
From the UNHCR, the NGOs and the myriad of do-gooder busy bodies, led by the Jews.
The Jews, those same Rodents who mercilessly boot out Immigrants into the desert, the Negev.

And We will have to see this "repatriation" in practice, before We believe it.
For the political will is weak, contaminated by 2,000 years of The Jesus Poison.
Weakened from within by the Hidden Enemy, our Eternal Enemy.

And what will that Squallid Socialist Renzi do?
Will he follow the Greek plan, or will he continue to haul the bipeds just off the coast of Libya - and then dump them onto Europe?
And his friend and fellow Squallid Socialist, our PM?  Will he finally smell the coffee?

Greece begins ferrying migrants back to Turkey under landmark EU deal

Greece began returning migrants from the island of Lesbos to Turkey today under a landmark European Union deal aimed at stopping the uncontrollable influx of migrants and refugees into Europe since last year.

Under the EU-Turkey deal, Ankara will take back all migrants and refugees, including Syrians, who enter Greece illegally in return for the EU taking in thousands of Syrian refugees directly from Turkey and rewarding it with more money, early visa-free travel and progress in its EU membership negotiations.

Two Turkish-flagged passenger boats carrying 131 migrants set sail from Lesbos to the Turkish town of Dikili as the sun rose over the Aegean Sea early on Monday, a Reuters witness said.

A small group of activists protested outside the port chanting "Shame on you!" Volunteer rescuers protesting at sea lifted a banner above their vessel which read: "Ferries for safe passage, not for deportation."

Each migrant was accompanied by a plainclothes Frontex officer. They had been transported in a nighttime operation from the island's holding centre to the port. Greek riot police squads also boarded the boats.

The returnees were primarily from Pakistan and some from Bangladesh and they had not applied for asylum, said Ewa Moncure, a spokeswoman for EU border agency Frontex.
Asked if Syrians would be returned, she said: "At some point, but I don't know when."
Moncure said there were plans to return migrants from the nearby island of Chios as well but did not say when.

Once the migrants reach Turkey, immigration officials there would take over the process, she said.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and rights groups have said the deal between the European Union and Turkey lack legal safeguards.
Amnesty International has called it "a historic blow to human rights", and was sending monitors to Lesbos and Chios on Monday.

More than 3,300 migrants and refugees are on Lesbos. About 2,600 people are held at the Moria centre, a sprawling complex of prefabricated containers, 600 more than its stated capacity. Of those, 2,000 have made asylum claims, UNHCR said.

-------------------

Migrants, migrants, migrants.... the Jewish led mantra.
These are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, draining the countries they invade.
They are being repatriated, or more accurately, booted out to Turkey whence they came.

And at what a cost! Millions upon millions of our tax money, Europeans "sharing the burden".
It would have been so much easier, cheaper to stop the boats at sea - sinking a few of them.
But the Jews controlling the media would have shrieked and screamed - and of course, used The Jesus Poison.

Europe needs a change at the top.
We need to change this Schultz, Jewish dominated Europe into a Nova Europa.
Eradicate the Rodents gnawing at our vitals, scorning The Jesus Poison and finding our True Selves.

Migrant flow to Greece continues despite returns to Turkey

...Altogether, more people arrived on the Greek islands in the 24 hours to Monday morning when the returns began than were sent back to Turkey yesterday, Greek authorities said, putting total arrivals at 339....

http://www.dw.com/en/plan-b-for-refugees-eu-seeking-alternative-to-deal-with-turkey-report-says/a-19245864

Plan B for refugees: EU seeking alternative to deal with Turkey, report says
Does the EU no longer trust Turkey with the refugee crisis? Germany’s "Bild" newspaper reports that other plans are secretly in the making; a claim that the German government denies.

On Monday, the German mass circulation "Bild" newspaper reported that several Greek islands in the Aegean are being turned into central registration sites for stranded refugees, and that ships will no longer take refugees to the Greek mainland in order to stop the uncontrolled flow of migrants into the EU. In other words, asylum seekers will be kept on the islands; those refused asylum would then be deported directly to their home countries. The billions of euros in aid promised to Turkey as the EU's partner in the refugee crisis would then be transferred to Athens instead.

The paper reported that several EU states are considering this alternative plan in the event that the EU's refugee deal with Ankara collapses. The story included statements from unnamed high-ranking politicians. "Bild" is known for having excellent contacts within the German government....

"I can't understand what all the fuss is about," CDU foreign policy expert Hans-Georg Wellmann told DW. "It seem pretty clear: We can't completely and utterly rely on Turkey. It's normal to consider alternatives." He added that even before the deal with Ankara, the EU had been creating hotspots for refugee registration in Greece and Turkey, and looking for its own ways to reduce the amount of illegal immigration....

The surprise resignation of Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann shows just how much the refugee crisis continues to affect politics among EU member states. His coalition of Social Democrats and conservatives had initially allowed refugees to pass freely through Austria before doing an total about-face and largely closing the country's borders. Despite this, the right-wing populist Freedom Party dominated first-round presidential elections in April. Faymann has now accepted the consequences and stepped down.....

Fussing and fiddling, squirming by the EU, dominated by the feminine, Metsola il-Pecluqa politics.
Allowing the invaders to set foot on the Greek Islands is wrong, bad - just as allowing the sub-Saharan-sub-Humans to land on Lampedusa.
Invaders must be stopped at sea, turned back - or shot and drowned.

Coastguard rescues migrants in sinking off Crete

More than 200 migrants were rescued in the south Aegean Sea off the island of Crete after their boat sank, Greece's coastguard said this morning.

"So far about 250 people have been rescued, based on the first data," coastguard spokesman Nikos Lagkadianos told Skai TV, adding that weather conditions were good.

He said it was not clear how many were aboard the vessel but that based on a first assessment it was unlikely to have carried many more than those rescued so far.

Fleeing war, thousands of mainly Syrian refugees have braved rough seas this year to make the short but precarious journey from Turkey to Greece's islands, from which most continue to mainland Greece and northward into wealthier western Europe.

However, Crete, Greece's southernmost island, lies north of Libya and Egypt. A group of 113 mostly Afghan migrants has landed on the island on Wednesday, the first big arrival on the island since the migrant crisis began.

Warm weather and calmer seas in the Mediterranean have led to a surge in recent weeks in the number of people trying to cross to Italy from Libya, where people-smugglers operate with relative impunity.
Boats on this much longer journey risk being blown off course to islands such as Crete

The Squalid Socialist Tsipras, an identical twin to the Squalid Renzi, picks up the Illegal Immigrants.
Then laments that he cannot repay his Country's debts and demands that the EU, pay instead.
In fact, Malta will soon have to fork out more, to keep afloat this Socialist bastard.

This ridiculous Gook urging more help to the Squalid Socialist Tsipras.
Why doesn't he urge the Koreans, or Chinks, or Japs to accept the invaders?
What Greece needs is to kick out the Squalids and stiffen their spine.
