Monday, October 3, 2011, 11:42 People need to be confident in the integrity, behaviour of the judiciary - Chamber of Advocates president The president of the Chamber of Advocates, Reuben Balzan, said today that while he backed calls for the members of the judiciary to be adequately compensated and supported in their work, the people were also right to expect accountability from them... The people were also right to expect that justice was administered effectively within a reasonable time, that cases were not repeatedly put off, that judgements were not put off for years, and that sittings were held on time... After winning my Constitutional Case - a Case of paramount importance for Freedom of Opinion and Expression in Malta. My Case was referred back to the Appeal Court - to be differently constituted. After 9 months, no Appeal Judge, nor a date have been appointed - unheard of.The vile Establishment at their tricks.Meanwhile, the AG office hounds me for expenses on the case I won! - Euros 3192 - disgraceful! That same AG office that remained silent, inactive, inerme to the stealing of the MEP Elections.Where 5 scoundrels overspent by millions - and cheated the Country. And We are expected to respect the whole Judiciary - my foot! 2012: Anno Zero! - Imperium EuropaHalli inqeghdu lil-kullhadd f-postu. http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20111012/local/Pending-appeals-reach-578.388748 Wednesday, October 12, 2011 Pending appeals reach 578 Up to the end of July this year there were 578 appeals pending before the Criminal Court of Appeal from decisions handed down by the Magistrates? Courts in Malta and Gozo.At the same time there were also 37 pending appeals before the Criminal Appeals Court from sentences handed down by the Criminal Court.Justice Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici gave the information in reply to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Jos? Herrera.Answering another PQ by Dr Herrera, Dr Mifsud Bonnici said that in 2010 the Criminal Court of Appeal had decided 14 appeals from sentences handed down by the Criminal Court, and 11 up to the end of July this year. ---------------------------- And the excellent letter by Dr Emmy Bezzina -my indefatigable lawyer and defender of Freedom of Opinion in Malta.Prosit! DR EMMANUEL BEZZINA,MA,MAG.JUR.[EU Law],LL.D.,Today, 08:52May we please learn more about this substantial increase in Appeals being made - for instance alot of what is deemed to be unnecessary appeals are being made by the Attorney General`s Office: some appeals are truly absurd where individuals not being found guilty by the Magistrates` Court find themselves in time-consuming and money-squandering appeals being made by the Attorney General and his staff. Do these employees of the State have nothing better to do? A formal investigation ought to be made. Then in situations where the AG was legally bound to investigate the facts, such as in the MEPs Elections` false declarations by candidates who abused flagrantly Malta`s Electoral Laws [ such illegalities were publicly admitted to by the candidates themselves ] ,no action was taken. Many regard this as CORRUPTION facing YOU in the FACE!! Let us get serious and not waste any further the People`s Money. ----------------------------- The AG Dept has now become an appendage to the rotten Establishment.Part of the whole, rotten lot!Malta is finished - bankrupt in every sense of the word. Only We of IE can save this Country from itself.Save the People from 50, just 50 traitors - the detritus floating on the surface of our society. And Malta can only be saved by IE from Brussels - halli inqeghdu lil-kulhadd f'postu! 2012: Anno Zero!
