No to racial hatred, yes to cohesion

In a message to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, today, the Jesuit Refugee Service and the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice say they stand firm in denouncing behaviour and language which incite racial hatred.

"Malta is steadily becoming a multicultural society. At this challenging and stimulating period in time we must all work together to turn this moment into one of cohesion, an opportunity for us all to learn from one another," they said. (Prova cara li qeghdin jiehdu GOST bid-dghajjes li jidhlu kull sajf. Hasra li ma jistghux juzaw Mount St.Joseph pero!!! ).

JRS and CFJ are holding various activities which aim to raise awareness on the issues of discrimination, racism and xenophobia. (like the monti people who have to pay taxes while the Valletta shoe-shine can do what the hell he wants to???).

In particular, JRS, in partnership with the Commission for Persons with Disability, is running the year-long campaign "Diversity Strengthens" (Sahha fid-Diversit?), the aim of which is to raise awareness on issues of discrimination on the grounds of race and disability. (In other words a "brainwashing campaign).

One of the main activities of this campaign is that of the School Outreach Programme through which immigrants and refugees visit schools in Malta and Gozo to talk to students and lead practical workshops. (Hmm..how to make weapons out of bed springs??? ).

A training seminar will be held as part of this campaign at the end of next month for NGOs and lawyers to introduce them to the EU Directive on Racial Equality and the Equal Opportunities (Persons with Disability) Act 2000. (In other words train the lawyers to start using the race card!).

CFJ, which is the national focal point on racism and xenophobia for the European Union's Monitoring Centre, will also be holding a conference on April 14 for interested parties entitled Meeting The Challenges Of Racism And Xenophobia. (I hope not in Malta!!!).

Araw naqa il-faqar tal-politikanti Maltin;

Mela meta Malta kienet ser tinghaqad ma l-Unjoni Ewropeja, xi membri minn ghaqdiet favur is-shubija kienu iduru l-iskejjel biex jedukaw l-istudenti fuq is-suggett. Dak iz-zmien, il-membri Laburisti haduha qatta' bla habel kontra il-gvern Nazzjonalista u sahansitra kienu jiddedikaw sieghat shah fuq il-media taghhom u dik lokali biex ipengu din l-azzjoni bhala wahda ta indotrinazzjoni fuq l-imhuh tat-tfal.

Issa, dawn il-hbieb tas-socjeta Maltija ( ghax ahjar insejhilhom hekk flokk jifqawni f'oxxenitajiet bhalissa!!), il-gizwiti u il-kakkademja taghhom fosthom il-moviment Graffitti, qed iduru l-iskejjel fil-kumpanija ta' klandestini u refugjati biex jindotrinaw it-tfal (l-aktar bniet bil-wicc tost kollhu !), halli jilqaw fosthom lil dawn in-nies "irregolari" jahasra!

Fejnhom il-politikanti biex jikkundannaw dawn l-azzjonijiet? Mhux talli hekk, talli qed jaghmlu kollox bil-barka taghhom u ma ndumux ma nisimawhom ifahhruhom! X'IPOKREZIJA!!!! Il-veru tal-misthija!

X'qed jistennew biex forsi jifthu mohhhom!? Li jaqbzu fuq xi tifla gewwa l-iskola stess waqt il-break taghhom?? Ghax il-harsa li jkollhom fuq wicchom hafna mil-klandestini dik ix-xhieda taghtik! Paceville il-veru dizgustanti il-mod kif iharsu lejn u jittantaw it-tfajliet taghna, komplu tuhom ir-rih gheziez politikanti!

Meta iridu il-JSR jigu l-universita u jaghtuna cans nitkellmu mhux jigu b'erba msieken bil-kitarra idoqqu u jidhku bin-nies u jhallu qassis iqanqal il-qalb ta xi erba studenti reqdin. Igibu klandestin u lil min iridu maghhom u jekk iridu jimlew pannel b'tal-Graffitti ( mhux ghax hemm hafna, imma imsomma ) u naraw fejnu il-polz ta' l-istudenti veru, mela imorru fi skejjel primarji u sekondarji!! Bhal ma gara f'okkazjonijiet ohra, jingabru hafna nies, u id-diskussjoni nirbhuha b'vuci soda!

I fully agree with you. The previous meetings at the university showed that many students are against the suicidal trend of "multiculturalism at all costs".

The jrs should put their money where their mouth is. If only they sent a few of them to junior college, or to the university again...

Mutliculturalism will only bring divisions within society. More class warfare. poverty, crime and resentment. Plus the financial costs, which the tax payer has to bear. The Malta JRC must have a hidden agenda for trying to shave Multiculturalism down the throats of the Maltese? And they must have the blessing of all the political parties, because someone will stand up and notice what's going on with this charade in the Maltese schools?

NGO office is ‘hampered’ by serious staff shortage
The Commissioner for voluntary organisations calls on government to increase its financial backing

Malta’s NGO Commissioner has conceded that his office is “grossly understaffed” and called on the government to make up its mind and implement the Voluntary Organisations Act seriously.

The report found that Prof. Wain’s office was understaffed, that scant attention was given to the threat of NGO funds being misused for terrorist purposes, and that the public was not sufficiently informed of the NGO Commissioner’s office.

It also argued that a register of NGOs should be publicly available online and that local NGOs should be forced to register with the NGO Commissioner’s office.

Proper implementation of Malta’s NGO Act has been hampered by Church organisations’ refusal – never clearly explained by the Church – to register with the Commissioner.

Enrolled organisations must provide the NGO Commissioner with an annual report of their activities and a copy of their audited accounts, with this information then made publicly available.

Prof. Wain had previously warned that allowing civil society organisations to raise money or receive public funds without undergoing the necessary scrutiny was unwise. He has not since changed his mind.

Allowing for unregistered organisations was a fundamental flaw in the Act as it currently stood, “because that means that for a sizable chunk of the voluntary sector there is no accountability or possibility of risk-assessment at all”.
